Bulgaria: Inflation moderates in June

Consumer prices fell 0.5% in June compared to the previous month, which followed May’s 0.3% drop. According to the National Statistical Institute, the fall reflected lower prices in 6 out of 12 categories that make up the index.
On an annual basis, inflation came in at 1.9% in June (May: +2.3% year-on-year). Despite May’s decline, the annual average variation in consumer prices increased from 0.8% in June to 0.5% in May.
