Bulgaria: Inflation edges up in October

Consumer prices increased 0.6% in October from the previous month, up from September’s 0.2% month-on-month increase. According to the Statistical Institute, the increase reflected higher prices in 6 out of the 12 categories that make up the index; prices were unchanged in 2 other categories and fell in the remaining 4.

Inflation rose from 2.1% in September to 2.5% in October. The annual average variation in consumer prices increased from 1.3% in September to 1.6% in October.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants expect inflation to close 2018 at 2.1%, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. In 2019, panelists expect inflation of 2.5%.
