Bulgaria: Inflation eases for a fifth consecutive month
April 12, 2012
In March, consumer prices rose 0.3% over the previous month, which was well below the 0.9% increase in February. The monthly reading reflected higher prices for food and transport, which were only partially offset by lower prices for clothing and footwear. Despite the monthly rise, annual inflation eased for a fifth consecutive month and fell from 2.0% in February to 1.7% in March, which marks the lowest level since June 2010. In addition, annual average inflation also moderated from 3.8% in February to 3.4% in March.
