Bulgaria: Decrease in consumer prices continues in November

In November, consumer prices fell 0.37% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.89% increase tallied in October and marked the steepest fall in five months. According to the National Statistical Institute, the largest decreases in consumer prices were recorded in transportation, communication, as well as in food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Consumer prices in November fell 0.6% over the same month last year (October: -0.4% year-on-year). November’s figure marked the 16th consecutive annual drop in consumer prices. Annual average consumer prices fell 1.5% in November, which was slightly less than October’s 1.6% drop.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants see inflation flat in2015, which is down 0.3 percentage points from last month’s forecast. In 2016, panelists expect inflation to be 1.6%.
