Bulgaria: Industrial production rebounds in December
February 7, 2013
In December, industrial output grew 4.1% over the same month the previous year in working-day adjusted terms. The print contrasted the 2.1% contraction observed in November and was driven by a rebound in manufacturing as well as a sharp increase in energy production.
A month-on-month assessment corroborates the improvement suggested by the annual figures, as industrial production expanded a seasonally adjusted 2.4% over the previous month, which marked an acceleration compared to the 1.8% increase recorded in November.
In the full year 2012, industrial production contracted 0.9%, which contrasted the 5.9% expansion recorded in 2011.
