Bulgaria: Industrial production drops in September
November 7, 2012
In September, industrial output fell 1.3% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms. The print contrasted the 2.6% increase observed in August and was driven by a contraction in the manufacturing sector. A month-on-month assessment confirms the deterioration suggested by the annual figures, as industrial production contracted a seasonally adjusted 1.8% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.8% increase recorded in August. As a result, the trend dipped into negative territory, with annual average growth in industrial production swinging from 0.3% in August to minus 0.1% in September, the lowest level since October 2010.
