Bulgaria: Industrial production grows robustly in February
April 10, 2017
In February, industrial production in Bulgaria expanded 5.0% from the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, contrasting the 1.0% contraction registered in January. February’s expansion was mainly driven by strong rebounds in the manufacturing and mining sectors, which more than compensated for the deceleration in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sector.
A month-on-month comparison showed that industrial production grew a seasonally-adjusted 3.7% in February, which contrasted the 3.2% contraction registered in the preceding month. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production was 2.8% in February, on par with January’s result.
