Bulgaria: Industrial production expands in November

In November, industrial output rose 0.9% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, according to the National Statistical Institute. The figure marked an improvement over October’s 0.6% growth (previously reported: 0.0%) and marked a six-month high. November’s expansion was driven by an improvement in manufacturing and mining and quarry, as well as in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning.

On a month-on-month basis, industrial production increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.4% in November, which was below the 0.9% expansion (previously reported: +0.5%) recorded in the previous month. In addition, average growth in industrial production fell from October’s 1.9% increase (previously reported: +1.9%) to a 1.6% rise, which marked a seven-month low.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants see industrial production expanding 2.9% in 2015, which is down 0.7 percentage points from last month’s Consensus. For 2016, panelists see industrial output growing 10.4%.
