Bulgaria: Growth in industrial production decelerates in July

In July, industrial output expanded 3.4% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, according to the National Statistical Institute. The figure was below June’s 5.7% increase. July’s reading marked a three-month low and reflected a softer increase in all sectors, with manufacturing recording the most notable slowdown.

On a month-on-month basis, industrial production fell a seasonally-adjusted 0.7% in July, which contrasted June’s 0.6% expansion and marked a four-month low. Nevertheless, average growth in industrial production in July increased from June’s 1.4% to 1.7%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants see industrial production expanding 3.1% in 2015, which is up 0.3 percentage points from last month’s Consensus. For 2016, panelists see industrial output growing 3.5%.
