Bulgaria: Growth in industrial production accelerates in October

In October, industrial production rose 1.0% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, according to the National Statistical Institute, which was below September’s 0.8% increase. October’s reading came on the back of increases in manufacturing and in electricity, gas and steam.

On a month-on-month basis, industrial production rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.1% in October, which contrasted the 0.8% fall recorded in the previous month. As a result, average growth in industrial production inched up from September’s 2.2% rise to 2.4% in October, which marked an over-one-year high.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants see industrial production expanding 2.8% in 2016, which is unchanged from last month’s Consensus. For 2017, panelists see industrial output growing 3.3%.
