Bulgaria: Growth in industrial production accelerates in January

In January, industrial output expanded 1.7% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, according to the National Statistical Institute. The figure was above December’s 1.4% increase. January’s gain largely reflected an improvement in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning.

On a month-on-month basis, industrial production increased a seasonally-adjusted 2.0% in January, which was above the 1.0% expansion recorded in the previous month. Average growth in industrial production remained unchanged at December’s 1.7%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants see industrial production expanding 2.9% in 2015, which is down 0.7 percentage points from last month’s Consensus. For 2016, panelists see industrial output growing 10.4%.
