Belgium: Industrial production recovers in October

In October, industrial production rose a seasonally-adjusted 1.2% over the previous month. The increase contrasted the 0.8% drop reported in September (previously reported: -1.5% month-on-month).

In annual terms, industrial production in October matched September’s 1.3% fall (previously reported: -1.4% year-on-year). As a result, annual average growth in industrial output was also in line with September’s minus 0.8% reading.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect that industrial output will expand 2.1% in 2016, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel sees industrial production picking up to a 2.3% increase.
