Industrial production in Belgium in March fell 1.5% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, contrasting February’s revised 3.4% increase (previously reported: +3.7% month-on-month). The drop was driven by declines in the manufacturing and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sub-sectors, while the mining and quarrying sub-sector was flat compared to the prior month.
In annual terms, industrial production grew 5.8% in March, up from February’s revised 1.7% (previously reported: +2.0% year-on-year). Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production ticked up from 4.1% in February to 4.4% in March.
