Belgium: Industrial production dips down in August

In August, industrial production rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.6% over the previous month. The reading came in below the 2.2% increase reported in July.

In annual terms, industrial production rose 3.6% in August, swinging from the 1.7% drop tallied in July. As a result, annual average growth in industrial output rose from minus 0.6% in July to minus 0.1% in August.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect that industrial output will expand 0.2% in 2015, which is down 0.5 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2016, the panel sees industrial production picking up to a 2.2% increase, which is also unchanged from last month’s forecast.
