May 12, 2017
Consumer prices rose 0.7% in April from the previous month, up from March’s 0.3% increase. According to the National Statistical Committee, April’s increase came on the back of higher prices for services and food.
Inflation moderated in April, edging down to 6.3% from 6.4% in March. This marked the lowest reading since March 2010. Annual average inflation was 10.6% in April, below March’s 11.2% and also a multi-year low.
