Belarus: Growth in industrial production hits over two-year high
February 17, 2017
Industrial production in January expanded 5.9% over the same month last year, which was the highest reading since November 2014. According to the National Statistical Committee (BELSTAT), the expansion was driven by strong growth in the manufacturing sector, which more than offset contractions in the other three key sectors that make up the index.
Annual average growth in industrial production swung from a 0.4% drop in December to 0.7% increase in January, the best figure since March 2015.
