Belarus: Industrial production contracts for the 11th consecutive month

In November, industrial output dropped 7.1% over the same month last year, according to the National Statistical Committee. The figure matched October’s reading and marked the 11th month of decline in a row. November’s reading reflected significant contractions in all major categories of the index.

The trend continued to decrease in November. Average growth in industrial production fell from minus 5.2% in October to minus 6.3% in November, which marked a multi-year low.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants see industrial production contracting 4.8% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s Consensus. For 2016, panelists see industrial output growing 0.3%, which is also unchanged from last month’s forecast.
