Austria: Industrial production growth slows in August
October 25, 2017
Industrial production grew 4.0% in annual terms in August, decelerating from a revised 5.8% growth rate in July (previously reported: +5.7% year-on-year). Growth in August was driven by greater production of energy and inputs.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production declined 0.1% in August compared to a 0.7% increase in July. The slowdown was the result of a contraction in the production of capital goods. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production was 3.5% in August, up from 3.3% in July.
