Austria: Industrial production growth moderates in September
December 19, 2017
Industrial production grew 3.7% in annual terms in September, decelerating from a revised 4.2% growth rate in August (previously reported: +4.0% year-on-year). Growth in September was driven by greater year-on-year production of energy and inputs.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production declined 0.6% in September, contrasting a 0.4% increase in August. The slowdown was the result of a month-on-month contraction in the production of inputs and durable consumer goods; capital goods production also decreased. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production picked up from 3.2% in August to 3.3% in September.
