Austria: Industrial production falls in April
Industrial output in Austria dropped 1.4% month-on-month in April, down from March’s upwardly revised 0.3% decrease (previously reported: -1.0% month-on-month). The drop reflected a strong decline in capital goods production offsetting rebounds in the output of durable and non-durable consumer goods. Moreover, energy production and intermediate goods output dipped in April.
Compared to the same month a year earlier, industrial production rose 4.5%, down from March’s 7.7% increase (previously reported: +5.7% year-on-year). Annual average growth in industrial production was stable at a revised 5.2% in April.
