Austria: Industrial production rebounds in June

In June, industrial output rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.5% over the previous month. The result contrasted May’s 0.8% drop and marked a five-month high. June’s figure was driven by a broad-based improvement in the index, with manufacturing expanding at the fastest pace in six-months.

Compared to the same month of the previous year, industrial production contracted a working-day adjusted 0.1% in June, which contrasted May’s revised 0.6% increase (previously reported: +0.7% year-on-year). Annual average growth in industrial production fell from May’s minus 0.5% to minus 0.6% in June.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to increase 1.5% this year, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2016, participants expect growth in industrial production to pick up 2.2%.
