Argentina: Industrial production growth decelerates further in August
September 24, 2015
In August, industrial production increased 0.5% over the same month last year. The reading was slightly below the 0.6% expansion seen in the previous month. August’s result was mainly driven by an increase in the production of textiles.
On a monthly basis, industrial production in August contracted 0.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms, which contrasted the 0.3% increase seen in July and marked a five-month low. Annual average variation in industrial production advanced from minus 1.5% in July to minus 1.2% in August, which marked the highest reading since April 2014.
