Argentina: Economic growth eases in April
June 23, 2011
In April, the monthly indicator for economic activity (EMAE, Estimador Mensual de Actividad Economica) added 7.1% over the same month the previous year. The figure was down from the 8.7% increase recorded in March and slightly below market analysts' expectations of a 7.4% rise. A month-on-month comparison fails to corroborate the moderation seen in the annual figures. The economy expanded 0.74% over the previous month in seasonally adjusted terms, which was above the 0.11% increase recorded in March.
