Argentina: Consumer confidence stable in June
June 23, 2011
In June, the consumer confidence index, published by the Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) reached 55.7 points, virtually unchanged from the 55.6 points recorded in May. At the current level, consumer sentiment remains above the 50-point threshold separating optimism from pessimism. The sub-index relative to the general economic situation remained broadly unchanged compared to May, while the component relative to the personal financial situation improved more substantially. Despite the improvement in this subcomponent, households expressed a lower willingness to make durable goods purchases compared to the previous month.
