Angola: Soaring inflation reaches over-four-year high in October

In October, consumer prices rose 1.35% over the previous month, which was above the 1.22% increase recorded in September. October’s reading marks the highest point in three months.

Inflation soared from 11.7% in September to 12.4% in October, which was the highest level since August 2011. In addition, annual average inflation increased from 8.8% in September to 9.2% in October, a reading last seen in August 2013.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panel participants expect inflation of 10.4% in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s projection. For 2016, the panel sees inflation registering 12.2% which is up 1.5 percentage points from last month’s forecast.
