Angola: Inflation rises to highest rate in nearly two years

In May, consumer prices rose 1.21% over the previous month, which was above the 0.85% increase recorded in the previous month and marked the highest value since December 2011.

Inflation rose from 8.2% in April to 8.9% in May, which was the highest level since September 2013. In addition, annual average inflation increased from 7.4% in April to 7.6% in May, thus reaching a 10-month high.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants expect inflation to be at 9.2% in 2015, which is up 0.1 percentage points over last month’s projection. For 2016, the panel sees inflation falling to 8.1%.
