Angola: Inflation rises further in April

In April, consumer prices rose 0.85% over the previous month, which was above the 0.63% increase recorded in the previous month and marked the highest value since May 2013.

Inflation rose from 7.9% in March to 8.2% in April, which was the highest level in a year and a half. In addition, annual average inflation inched up from 7.3% in March to 7.4% in April, thus reaching a seven-month high.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants expect inflation to be at 9.2% in 2015, which is up 0.1 percentage points over last month’s projection. For 2016, the panel sees inflation falling to 8.1%.
