In October, consumer prices rose 0.85% over the previous month, which was almost a third of the 2.20% increase recorded in September. The moderation stemmed from lower prices for postal services and telecommunications as well as more moderate increases in the prices for healthcare and education. Despite the moderation, annual inflation rose from 6.5% in September to 7.0% in October, the highest rate in five months. However, annual average inflation fell from 12.1% in September to 11.0% in October, the lowest level since March 2011.
