In October, industrial output expanded 4.0% over the same month last year, which marked a deceleration from the 5.6% expansion observed in September. The moderation was broad-based, as growth in all sub-categories slowed from the previous month. A month-on-month comparison corroborates the deceleration suggested by the annual figures. In October, industrial production was virtually unchanged in seasonally and working-day adjusted terms over the previous month, following the 0.6% increase in September. In spite of the deceleration, annual average growth in industrial output inched up from 6.7% in September to 6.9% in October.
