In February, industrial output rose 12.7% over the same month the previous year. The reading represented an acceleration from January's 11.9% expansion and marked the fastest pace of growth since August 2007. A month-on-month comparison does not corroborate the acceleration suggested by annual figures. In February, industrial production expanded a working-day and seasonally adjusted 0.3% over the previous month, which was below the 0.8% increase in January. Annual average growth in industrial output stepped up from 5.9% in January to 6.9% in February. The government expects the economy to return to positive growth this year, expanding 1.5% in 2011, before accelerating to 4.5% in 2012.
