According to the Central Statistical Office's Business Tendency Survey (GUS-BTS), the index for the expected general business climate remained unchanged at 3.1 points in July. Hence, the index continues to hover above the zero-point threshold separating pessimism from optimism for a sixth consecutive month. Compared to the same period last year, businesses were less optimistic as the index dropped 3.3 points. Among the sub-components of the index, participants of the survey displayed increasing optimism in the expected domestic and foreign-order books. On the other hand, businesses were less optimistic about current production as well as current order-books.
