In July, the economy expanded 7.2% over the same month last year, virtually unchanged from the 7.3% increase in June, according to the monthly indicator of economic activity (IMAE, indice Mensual de Actividad Economica). The construction and transportation sectors, as well as storage and communications, had the biggest impact on the monthly reading. On a monthly basis, economic activity decreased 0.04% over the previous month in seasonally adjusted terms, slightly exceeding June's 0.02% decline (previously reported: +0.16% mom). However, annual average growth in economic activity inched up from 7.5% in June to 7.6% in July.
