In February, consumer prices increased 0.4% over the previous month, which was below the 0.7% rise tallied in January. According to Statistics Estonia, the increase was mainly influenced by housing expenditures and food. Annual headline inflation, however, fell from 4.5% in January to 4.2% in February. Annual HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) edged down from 4.7% in January to 4.4% in February. Annual average HICP inflation, however, remained unchanged at January's 5.0%. The Central Bank expects HICP inflation to average 2.8% this year and 2.9% in 2013.
