The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (PMI), which is sponsored by the Richard Ivey School of Business and the Purchasing Management Association of Canada, increased from 55.6 points in October to 57.1 points in November. The increase contrasted market expectations, which had the PMI falling to 55.0 points. As a result, the PMI remained above the 50-point threshold for a fourth straight month, which suggests an expansion in manufacturing production in November. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the Ivey PMI rose from 54.4 points in October to 59.9 points in November.
