Inflation accelerates in April

In April, consumer prices increased a seasonally adjusted 0.2% over the previous month, which mirrored the rise seen in March. The monthly price rise mainly reflected higher prices for transportation as well as for clothing and footwear. Annual headline inflation inched up from 1.9% in March to 2.0% in April, which came in slightly above market expectations of a 1.9% increase. Despite the rise, inflation remains within the Central Bank's 2.0%
