Mujica to be sworn in as president
President-elect José Mujica reiterated his promise to maintain the economic policy of his predecessor Tabaré Vázquez broadly unchanged and instructed his future cabinet to keep fiscal discipline. Former guerrilla-fighter and leftist Mujica, who will be sworn in as President on 1 March, is keen to alleviate concerns that his government would go on a spending spree, adding to high public debt levels.Uruguay:
