Economy to Contract This Year
The outlook for economic growth continues to worsen as a result of weakening external and domestic demand. Consequently, the economy is now expected to contract for the first time in nearly two decades this year. On a positive note, price pressures are likely to ease continually throughout the year. Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund recently turned down the country's request for more financial assistance on top of the multi-billion loan agreed to earlier.Nicaragua:
