Honduras
Political situation slowly returning to normality
The political situation is beginning to stabilise, following on Porfirio Lobo's victory in the presidential elections held on 29 November. Lobo, who is to be inaugurated on 27 January, has announced he intends to rebuild the country's relations with the international community as well as attract foreign capital. However, several countries have yet to recognise Lobo as the legitimate president while ousted president Manuel Zelaya remains holed up inside the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa. Amid the only slowly receding political turmoil, economic growth is expected to remain sluggish this year.Honduras:
