Political Turmoil Shakes Country

The outlook remains weak and the economy is projected to contract this year, marking the worst performance in more than a decade. Contracting exports as well as decreasing foreign investment do not bode well for prospects of growth in the country. Furthermore, the government is under pressure after the assassination of Rodrigo Rosenberg, a lawyer investigating on alleged cases of corruption involving President Álvaro Colom.
