Recovery to be moderate

Economic growth is unlikely to spring back strongly as prospects for both the domestic and external side of the economy remain lacklustre. The domestic sector is being bogged down by persistent unemployment and low consumer confidence. Meanwhile, the row with Venezuela is likely to remain a drag on exports. Finally, as the May elections approach, the Supreme Court has yet to make its final verdict whether President Alvaro Uribe is eligible for a third term or not.
