Government lifts growth forecast for 2010
Following on the first year of negative growth in over ten years, the economy will exit recession this year. In the same vein, the government recently increased its growth forecast for 2010. Despite the recession, the government maintained fiscal discipline in order to meet the requirements to join the Euro area. Bulgaria is expected to formally apply to join the Euro zone by the end of January, which puts the country on course for full adoption of the currency in 2013.Bulgaria:
