President Ma advocates trade pact with China
The outlook continues to improve as signs of a strong recovery continue to emerge across the board. Industrial production is rebounding, while exports are growing at the fastest pace in decades, boosted by increasing demand from China. Moreover, amid the recovery in domestic demand, the economy has finally emerged from deflation after remaining in negative territory for nearly a year. Meanwhile, President Ma Ying-jeou recently reiterated the importance of reaching a trade pact with China in order to attract foreign investment and increase the country's competitiveness.Taiwan:
