Strong recovery expected
After an expected contraction in 2009, the first since the 1998 Asian crisis, the economy is projected to rebound vigorously this year on the back of higher investment and an improving external sector. Nonetheless, growth rates are still expected to remain below pre-crisis levels. Meanwhile, although the economy has now exited deflation, the Central Bank maintained its loose monetary policy stance to further support the economic recovery.Malaysia:
