PERU
Snapshot
The economy remained bright in August, despite global headwinds. Economic activity grew 7.5% annually, faster than the 6.5% expansion observed in July and exports posted a new record-high in August, as exports of mineral and agricultural products continue to benefit from high global commodity prices. Moreover, both business and consumer confidence rose in September, which bodes well for domestic demand in the fourth quarter.
