In November, industrial output rose 1.0% over the same month the previous year, which contrasted October’s 1.7% drop. The November improvement was broad-based, with the electricity, gas and water supply category expanding 11.9% (October: +3.8% year-on-year). Manufacturing declined 0.2% (October: -2.1% yoy), while the mining and quarrying sector contracted 1.5% (October: -6.5% yoy).
Seasonally adjusted data corroborate the improved annual reading, as industrial production rose 1.2% over the previous month in November, contrasting October’s 2.5% contraction.
