The Polish economy ended 2011 in good shape. According to preliminary data, GDP expanded 4.3% in 2011, led by robust growth in fixed investment. In December, however, industrial production slowed to a 7.7% expansion, with the underlying trend pointing downwards. On the upside, both business and consumer confidence improved in January.
