According to preliminary estimates, GDP expanded 7.9% year-on-year in the third quarter, which was only moderately below the 8.4% recorded in the second quarter. However, more recent data suggest that the economy will continue to soften, with industrial production expanding 5.5% in September, which abruptly ended a 17-month streak of double-digit growth rates.
