Vietnam: Growth in industrial production eases marginally in June
June 28, 2016
In June, industrial output rose 7.4% over the same month last year, which came in below the 7.8% rise recorded in May. The deceleration came on the back of a larger contraction in mining and quarrying and a softer expansion in the electricity, gas and water component of the index compared to April. These developments served to offset the acceleration observed in the two remaining components.
Industrial production rose 1.1% over the previous month in June, slower than the 2.4% tallied in May. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production inched down from 8.7% in May to a 16-month low of 8.4% .
