The monthly reading mainly reflected how higher prices for recreation and culture as well as for health were offset by lower prices for transport as well as for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Annual headline inflation inched up from 3.6% in June to 3.7% in July, which represents the highest reading in four months. Meanwhile, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) remained stable at June'4.1%. The Central Bank expects annual average HICP inflation to reach 3.5% in 2012 before moderating to 1.7% in 2013.
