In August, industrial output grew a strong 10.3% over the same month the previous year, on the back of resilient growth across all sectors. The reading represented a sharp acceleration over July's 1.5% expansion and marked the fastest growth rate since February. A month-on-month comparison corroborates the improvement suggested by the annual figures. In August, industrial production expanded a seasonally and working-day adjusted 1.9% over the previous month, slightly faster than the 1.8% increase in July. As a result, annual average growth in industrial output edged up from 6.3% in July to 6.7% in August.
